In “Casa do Moleiro” you will find the nature quietness,
the mountain's silence
and the river's whisper lulling your dreams.

The ornament of a house is the friends who frequent it.
Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882)
Casa do Moleiro" (Miller's House) has a privileged location:

  • It is situated in one of the slopes of the “Montemuro”’s mountain, 200 m away from the “Bestança” river. This is a mountain river with trouts and otters and it is considered one of the less polluted rivers in Europe. His valley is part of the “natura 2000” net, and due to his biodiversity it has been classified as “Corin’s biotype”.
  • It is 6 Km away from the “Carrapatelo” lagoon, where you can practice water sports or do nice boat trips.
  • His location lets you to go fishing, hunting, walking, and there is also the possibility of riding a donkey, or to do a nice cruise on the “Douro” river.
  • It has panoramic sights either to the “Bestança” valley, either to the “Carrapatelo” lagoon in the “Douro” river.

“An opened veranda to the mountain, to the sky and to the river, geshelted in the middle of the valley, painted with serenity and light. The robustness of the stone and the warming of the wood laboriously made together, comfort and enchantment to whom is coming to. On the horizon the granitic sobriety of “Montemuro” and the fresh sonority of the 'Bestança' river tracking down to the 'Douro”' river, propose tranquility and rest. The owner’s kindness and carefulness form are the revealed secret of a receipt witch we want to experiment again. Thank you!"
